| Gerbil Rodeo... first of all there is a minor
problem. We all know it. Gerbils don't generally understand
posing for photos. And when you are holding the gerbil in
one hand and the camera in the other...it doesn't always work.
So do understand that some of the stars of this shoot didn't
cooperate. "Sunseeds" doesn't make them smile. |

See? Tater would much rather wear out the glass
than pose for a pumpkin seed (her favorite). At this point
she was very very gravid, about two days from delivering seven,
and in a very foul overall mood. I think even Spud would have
rather slept inside the cat. SO, onto GERBIL RODEO, otherwise
known as how to feed Ornacycline to clicking pups and their
parents. |
|
| A few days into treatment. All the kids are
caught first, then Mom and Dad. This allows that everyone
gets fed their meds, and the two most likely to jump are now
worried about the kids and will stay put instead for a few
minutes before being put back in tank. Pups are about 21 days
old, this is Tater's first. With Spud. |

Litter is about 25 days. Just before catching
Mom and Dad and feeding them their meds. The one staring up
is the littlest one, the blur next is about the biggest. Because
Mom is drying up and they are figuring out the water bottle,
the medicine is well received. 'I lick the aquarium and I'm
still thirsty, but this stuff does quench the thirst..!' There
are 4 agouti and 3 blacks.... Tater was about two weeks pregnant
with this batch when she arrived. |

| Next is pictures of the gear, how to, and trying to grab gerbils
and make them take their medicine. Including a one handed gerbil
hold. No I wasn't bit either. |
