Stripe, first pregnancy, 18 days. I didn't
know she was, I was trying to get her color and pattern
(pied/ mottled black, see rump spots?) In left, Larry the
sapphire is visible by her tail. |

Tater left, Stripe right, both at 24 days on 1st pregnancy.
I noticed both sitting chunky about day 20-21.
Both carried 7 pups.
Look at lump just in front of Stripes rear splayed paw.

Tater 25 days. Standing straight up. |

Stripe at 26 days. You can see I attempted
a fur fluff to show skin color and that the black hair was
same color from tip to skin. She's not amused. And doesn't
show her bulges, though she's feeling heavy now when picked
up. |

Tater left, 27 days. Tater right, 28 days,
just a few hours before delivery started. |

Tater shortly after climbing walls. The frenzy
went to lethargy as labor started. I was called away for
a few hours and came back to catch her with four at her
feet. She did more...it seemed it took her an hour and a
half to do all seven (four agouti, three black). Lying around
like an old milk cow the last few days, then the sides moving
like there's an alien or something in there are your tipoffs
that the last two days of pregnancy are here. Try holding
a treat just above their head so they have to stand up on
the glass and stretch some, that is an easy way to see 'fat'
and bulges. These 'blossomings' are for first litters or
litters after a long break, without nursing at the same
time. That has thrown about 12 more days to both these mothers
for carrying. |
