Is it preggers or is it fat? That is the question that plagues gerbil keepers. And probably always will. Don't feel bad, a lot of us have mis sexed, mis guessed, and otherwise been gifted with a surprise when we least expected. There are two gerbils here on this page, several different views. Either one is preggers, one is not; or both are; or both aren't. Look at the pictures and guess. Next page will give you the low down on if you got it right or wrong. Donna of ABCGerbils had a fine 'preggers or fat' on her website from about middle of '01, that's another good place to look. Later in, there will be some pictures showing a female getting fatter and that to try to give you a chance. I almost always catch it by just looking at her in the right pose, then pick her up for a gentle feel. This is Gerb #1, "You Lookin At Me?!?!?"
Gerbil #2 both pictures. They were taken about fifteen seconds apart. I call these "I'd like to thank the..." (left) and "Sing along with Me, *Everybody* HULA!" (right)
Gerbil #1 on left and Gerbil #2 on the right
Gerbil #1 cooperated. Note nipples in lower on both sides, and one upper left barely visible, and the center gash looking thing which is the scent gland. Lovely shot of belly.... #2 when coaxed gave me the two shots above instead. Then I ran out of pumpkin seeds.

Gerbil #2, just finishing scarfing the last pumpkinseed I had. They caught on to the dirty trick of sticking a seed to some masking tape and hanging the seed just high enough they had to stand straight up to get it. Then they somehow managed to convince the sticky on the tape to give and drop the seed at their feet. :grumph: Choices-A, both are girls and at 2-3 days pre delivery. B, neither is a girl. C, 1 is a girl and 2 is a boy. D, 1 is a boy and 2 is a girl

And the winner is....see next page.
