Stripe (pied black) and Larry (sapphire) foster
babies. Born 28 Dec, so 12 days old. Male left, female right.
Had some stomach nips nothing bad. Tater had been mothering
them for 5 1/2 days at this point and she is an excellent
gerbie mommy so that may make up for Stripe's wigging out.
Adopted. Also have learned they learned Tater's nestkeeping
skills not Stripe's poor ones. |

The older litter is Tater (nutmeg) and Spud (light pied dove
neutered) #3, wasn't ready until end of January. Litter was eyes
open early and water bottle drinking and weaning off early. Not
100% sure on sexing but looks like all 6 are boys. All are adopted.
These pictures are remaining because of development and color
that they show. Spud was neutered 2 January 2003, and the last
small litter (directly affected by the fostering and the drain
that was on Tater) was born 31 January, two boys (light pied nutmeg,
black), a girl (pied nutmeg) and a stillborn. The light pied nutmeg
boy had serious health problems noticed at day 8, lagged considerably
behind, and died at day 28 of congestive heart failure. The black
boy grew rapidly, slowing to a normal 8 week old size by that
age. The girl was a few days larger in size and also adjusted
around 8 weeks to a normal size.
